This basic summary of “rules” is posted along with the schedule at each practice site. The coach has a more complete description of H-E-B ISD’s and MCBA’s expectations and requirements. It should all be “common sense”: We come to the gym to practice basketball.
· When two teams are assigned to the gym at the same time, they are expected to use the designated ends (“A” is nearest the water fountains).
· There will be school holidays (Mondays and Fridays) and other events when the gyms are not available. Team practices will be revised those “short weeks.”
· The team that raises/lowers goals at the beginning of practice is responsible for restoring goals at the end of practice, unless the team following agrees to restore them. Regardless, they must be left at the height required by the school.
· Practices are limited to one hour and 15 minutes, including: Raising/lowering goals, warmups, ANY activity on the gym floor. Expect the school’s custodial staff to unlock the door shortly before the earliest start time and turn off the lights shortly after the latest finishing time.
· Players arriving early will stay off the gym floor and not interfere with or distract the teams that are practicing. Likewise, players finishing practice will get off the gym floor and not distract the teams that are practicing.
· ONLY registered MCBA players and approved MCBA coaches on the gym floor. Brothers, sisters, friends and others are to stay off the floor. NO FOOD, NO DRINKS. These are H-E-B ISD requirements.
